How To Download an eBook or eAudiobook to:
iPad®/iPhone® or Android Mobile Devices

The OverDrive Media Console for Android & iPad®/iPhone® supports these file formats:

• EPUB eBooks (for reading)
• MP3 Audiobooks (for listening)

 Download and Install the Free App

OR Download from the App Store			OR Download from the Android Market
				If you have a barcode scanner, scan this code:

  Add the St. Charles Public Library to the app

• Click the icon for OverDrive  
• Choose Get Books from the menu (Android users may need to use the menu button on their device to see options)
• Click Add a Website
• Browse for St. Charles Public Library by entering your Zip Code and choosing St. Charles Public Library from the list, or click the Browse Libraries button.
• Open the Library’s page by clicking the eMediaLibrary link. (Save it for next time by clicking the star next to the eMediaLibrary name.)

 Check Out and Download

• Browse collections and select items. Remember you may download either EPUB eBooks to read or MP3 audiobooks for listening
  1. Add to Cart
  2. Place Hold: For items not currently available. You’ll be notified by email when the item is available to be downloaded.  You have three days to download, once notified.
  3. Add to Wish List: The item is not placed on hold for you, this is simply a list of titles you create for your convenience.
• Proceed to Checkout
• Confirm Checkout
• Download
• Activate your device with an Adobe ID, which allows reading EPUB titles (needs to be done just once)
1. If you already have an Adobe ID, enter it when prompted (usually pops up the first time you download an EPUB title, depending on your device).
2. If you need to get an Adobe ID, click the Get an Adobe ID link when prompted.
3. Or get an Adobe ID ahead of time.

 Open and Enjoy

• Click the book cover to open your title
• Both Audio and EPUB print titles allow you to bookmark favorite sections
• Books automatically open where you left off reading or listening
• Items are “returned” automatically and will no longer be available to play on your device once the checkout period expires. You may be prompted to delete expired titles.
• You may return titles early.
