Calling all High School teens -
Celebrate Teen Tech Week 2010 with the St. Charles Public Library by creating a YouTube video. This is your ticket to stardom – create an original movie starring you and/or your friends. First prize for the individual or team is worth $150!!
Casting Call for Producers & Superstars:
Create a 2-5 minute video trailer, review, or promotion of your favorite book, CD, or DVD. Use your cell phone, your camera, or video camera. Be creative! Recruit your family, friends, and pets to star in the video. Work alone or with a team. Be spontaneous or be scripted. Keep it fun and appropriate for Library viewers. The Library has Windows Moviemaker editing programs on all of our computers for you to use. Or you can use your cell phone or digital camera video modes.

Send your video as a mov or wmv file (depending on the platform you use) to Marianne Weick at teentech@stcharleslibrary.org.
When you send your video, please return the entry form to the Reference Desk with the title of your video, your name, phone number, address, and parental permission slip if you are under the age of 18. (All videos are subject to the YouTube terms of use found at http://www.youtube.com/t/terms.)
Family and friends can view and vote for their favorite entry on YouTube after they have been reviewed by Library staff.
- Deadline for submissions is March 13 – so don’t delay!
- Voting ends March 20.
- Winners will be announced March 23.
First prize for the individual or team is worth $150!! Prizes are provided by the Friends of the Library.

Teen Tech Week YouTube Contest is a way to promote “Teen Tech Week,” a national initiative sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). This year’s Teen Tech Week theme is “Learn Create Share @ Your Library.”
Teen Tech Week YouTube Contest Official Rules
- Participants must be in High School.
- Video must be at least 2-5 minutes long.
- Video must be a trailer, review, or promotion of a book, CD, or DVD.
- No personal information should be included in the video (last name, address).
- Only original work accepted.
- Video may not contain inappropriate material.
- Entries will be viewed by Library staff before placing them on YouTube.
- Entry form must be submitted for every person included in the video.
Please Note: Submission of videos to the Teen Tech Week YouTube Contest grants permission of use by the St. Charles Public Library for the purpose of promoting the Contest and/or the Library. St. Charles Public Library reserves the right to use or refuse any and all videos submitted to the Teen Tech Week YouTube Contest based on content.
