Travel back in time to England in 1886 to a small town on the seacoast where Mariah Mundi is starting his first job at the Prince Regent Hotel. He has been sent by the principal of the Colonial School to be an assistant to the magician Bizmillah. At the train station, Mariah meets a man who gives him a fancy deck of playing cards to keep safe. On the train, Mariah meets two men; a very sinister-seeming man who is also going to the Prince Regent Hotel and a man who seems very helpful. Why do these men seem to know who Mariah is? Upon arrival, he meets Sacha, another assistant, and learns that several other boys, sent from the Colonial School, have disappeared. Mariah and Sacha accidentally discover a dreadful plot which they try to unravel. They search through the many secret tunnels and caves beneath the hotel and encounter terrifying beasts as they try to stay alive and prevent further disaster. Will they find the missing boys? Will they figure out who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? What evil does the eccentric owner of the hotel have in mind? Read this page-turner to find out.

Amy and Dan are invited, by golden invitation, to the reading of their beloved Grandma Grace's will. Instead of inheriting her mansion and wealth, they are asked to choose between a million dollar check and the chance to play a game that could make them the most powerful people in history. Of course they choose the game, along with 12 other family members who will do anything to win. Each book in this series is written by a different author. Maze of Bones is followed by One False Note by popular author Gordon Korman.

The date is July 16, 1969. Responding to President John F. Kennedy's challenge to put a man on the moon before the decade is out, NASA has been preparing for this day. Three astronauts, Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin, have been preparing, too. Each step is rousingly described as the three men strap into the tiny space module, through Armstrong's 'giant leap,' to splash-down and the men's safe return to their families. This story of the United States' first flight to the moon is poetically told.

Minnie LOVES spaghetti! In fact, she is too busy twirling, cooking, and eating spaghetti to play with her friend Freddy. Can Freddy find a way to get his pasta-loving friend away from the spaghetti so he has someone to play with? This is a delightfully funny story, told in verse, for the beginning reader.
