What is Anansi, that trickster spider up to now? While taking a walk in the cool forest, Anansi found a moss-covered rock that had mysterious powers. Anansi immediately thought of a plan to trick his fellow forest dwellers so that he could steal, Lion's yams, Elephant's bananas, Rhino's watermelon, Hippo's pineapples, and many more delights without doing a lick of work. However, when Anansi attempted to try this trick on Little Bush Deer, he discovered that he had met his match. Eric A. Kimmel's tale, 'Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock' is a delightful and humorous retelling of a West African Folktale. The young reader will enjoy the antics of this lazy little spider named, Anansi.

What are Cat with the fiddle, Cow that jumped over the moon, and Dog that laughed, to do? The Dish has run away with the Spoon and they haven't returned. Their nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle, can't be read, sung, or told tonight until everyone in the rhyme is present! So Cat, Cow, and Dog go on a search for their missing friends. Their journey through Nursery Land is full of adventure, danger, and humorous verse as they enlist the help of various nursery book characters. All is lost unless they can each use their unique talents to rescue their friends. How would their nursery rhyme sound if instead of 'the dish ran away with the spoon', it ended with 'the little dog bit a baboon'? 'And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon' by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crommel, is a delightful romp through the land of nursery rhymes.
