The Snow Child by Harriet Ziefert is an easy to read story just perfect for the beginning reader. This story is about an old man and woman who were very unhappy because they didn't have a child of their very own. So they decided to make one out of snow. After making a little girl out of snow, they kissed her and she came to life. She danced when the old lady sang and she played out in the snow with the children next door. When Spring came the Snow Child needed to leave for someplace cold. Will the old man and the old woman ever see her again?

Watch out! The snowball is rolling your way! This fast-paced, rhyming tale about a snowball that rolls out of control (taking a few people with it) is a funny, engaging read. With repetition, rhyme, and laugh-out-loud illustrations, this is a story you'll want to read again and again. With each two-page spread covered with pictures and typically including only one sentence, The Snowball is a perfect choice for newly independent readers. (Reading Level: 1.9)

Have you ever wondered about the secret life of a snowman? Maybe one morning his hat is in a different place, or his tree-branch arms have drooped, and you might think, 'What do snowmen do at night?' At night, when everyone is sleeping, the snowman games begin. They have races, make snow angels, play baseball, and have the world's best snowball fights. Finally, they are all tired out, and one by one, they go home. So, if your snowman's grin is crooked, you'll know what he's been doing late at night.

This book was just phenomenal. I loved it from beginning to end. It might take a true desire to read through it, but I believe it to be worth it. I read this in either 7th or 8th grade and it was tremendously worth it. So well written, and with every detail making you turn to the next page- you'll never want it to end!!
